Bulls, Broncs and Boots

Surprise!!  I have a little country in my soul!  For those of you who don't know, I am a Texas girl, born and raised.  I grew up in the Houston area, Alvin, to be exact, but moved to the Austin area over 10 years ago.  I love where we live and wouldn't want to be anywhere else until this time of year rolls around.  What time of year?  Glad you asked...rodeo time!!

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is one of the things I miss most about living there.  It's the largest livestock show and rodeo in the entire U.S.  Since I was a little, we went every year, multiple times.  The cook-off kicks things off and it is the BEST time!!  Tons of booths, lives music, BBQ, beer, friends, carnival rides and port-a-potties.  Who could ask for more?

Then there is the actual rodeo and concerts {i.e. Lady A, Zac Brown, Miranda Lambert and Jason Aldean just to name a few}.  Fireworks, Texas pride, rodeo clowns, real cowboys, cotton candy, bucking bulls and the list goes on.  It is hard to explain in words...you just have to see it and feel it live.  The energy and excitement is unexplainable.  Do I sound like a dork?

Well, I have been seeing Facebook posts and pictures from the rodeo all week from my friends who still live back home.  It has made me quite jealous, but gave me some inspiration for a post.

So, if I were lucky enough to attend this year, I would try to recreate these rodeo, cowgirl for week ensembles...yes, I would need 6 outfits because that's how many times I would being heading to Reliant Stadium.  Yee-haw!!

All style boards were found on Polyvore

I plan to attend the Austin Rodeo that is kicking off this month.
It's a great time too, but just not the same as my roots.

Have you ever been to a rodeo?  Do you have a little country in your heart?

Cheers to bulls, broncs and boots!
