Want to know what I think every girl should invest in? Nope, it's not a white dress because you can find one anywhere. It's not a statement necklace because you can grab a cute one at Forever 21 for under $15.00. Well, what's left in this outfit? You guessed it...my boots! Some of you might be rolling your eyes right about now or clicking your way onto another blog. I am okay with that, but I am sticking to my guns on this one.
Ladies, you do not have to be from the South, live on a farm or know how to two-step to rock a pair of cowgirl boots. My only suggestion is to invest in a quality pair that will last you for years to come. I promise, whether you believe it or not, you will wear them more than you think. Something about slipping on a pair of boots makes me feel a little sexy and sassy...and that doesn't happen very often {the sexy part}.
You can wear them a million different ways {here} and {here} and add your own twist to finish off the look. Out of everything I own in my closet, my Lucchese boots are by far my best investment and if that makes me a Country Bumpkin, so be it.
Dress:T.J. Maxx (old) | Boots:Lucchese | Necklace and Ring:Forever 21| Earrings:My wedding gift from Ross |
Doesn't this picture make you want to buy a pair just so you can kick up your boots?
I also wanted to share some quick pics from my date night with Ross. We went to see Alan Jackson Friday night. I have been a huge fan for years. So, I was pretty pumped to finally get to see him "live" and he didn't disappoint. If I haven't mentioned this before, I love country music {really, most any kind of music} and love it even more when it's live. Needless to say, we weren't feeling too hot on Saturday morning. Let's just say the $4.00 pints got the best of us.
What has been your best investment related to clothing?
I know we all play favorites to something in our closet.

I love boots! Especially those you are wearing :) looks great with the dress! Xo Tami
AGREED! I bought a pair about 4 years ago, and I still wear them... or I did before I moved to Boston. I don't know how acceptable the style will be here, but I'll find out this summer :) Have a happy Monday!
Looks like you guys had a blast! I'm not a huge country music fan but I have always liked Alan Jackson. I put a link to your blog on mine today!

I love the background in these photos! It's so summery with the white dress. I have not graduated to full-on cowboy boots, but I do have an ankle pair. I think that is as far as I dare go in Jersey...haha.
And today I officially begin my month-long spending freeze. I found a pair of mint jeans and now I am done for the next thirty days.

Looking fabulous, as always! Statement necklace + boots!! Yes ma'am!! I will say that I have had a hard time finding white sundresses (that I like)! So when I do I have to snag them up, and this one is CUTE!! Happy Monday!!
xo, Jess

Girl you know I agree with you on this one!! :) I love my 3 pairs with everything in me lol! I have "shit kickers", a nice pair, and a pair of red ones that I always wore to Alabama football games when I was a student there! Happy Monday!
Your boots are the perfect accessory to your pretty white dress! I think cowboy boots look so cute and I'd totally get a pair if I lived in the South. Living in Jersey it's not really something you see people wear.

The boots are definitely sexy!! Thanks for a great date babe!!!
Ive had my cowgirl boots since I was 16 and wear them several times a wekk. I agree that they are a staple!
Totally agree! Boots are a must have. I got some two years ago on a whim before going to a Carrie Underwood concert with my BFFs. I was made at myself for spending so much on a pair of shoes I'd only wear once or twice but I was wrong. They were definitely worth the price!
I completely agree! I found such a great deal for some cowboy boots on eBay recently. They really can be work year around and theyre so versatile!!! I do love your statement necklace though. Where did you get it??
A sundress with boots is by far my favorite look... so feminine BUT rustic. You look amazing... i really love, love, love this outfit. AND, that concert looks amazing. I have to see that my greatest investment has been a pair of boots too.

Super cute!! I can't wear boots :( My feet have high arches and they won't slip into them. Sad right?
I've always wanted to see Alan Jackson - fun!
umm i totally agree with you! great boots go a long way!
that last picture of you kickin' up your heels is way too cute!! love the boots- i've been in search of a good pair for a long time- now you've inspired me to make it happen!!
You look so, so pretty!
Girl, as we say in the south, you are sexier than boots on a duck!
Your outfit is too cute! The boots really do complete it though. I can see how boots could be a staple in any wardobe, but I can't say that I have a pair of cowgirl boots. I was seriously debating about buying a pair about 2 weeks ago though. I'm sure the day will come when i own a pair! Happy Tuesday:)
I love everything about this outfit - love the dress, love the necklace and love the boots! You look so cute and gorgeous!

Awww, you and your guy are adorable!! And I LOVE you in that white dress and cowboy boots combo. So cute!
I had a pair of cowboy boots for years and finally started wearing them last spring. They were a cheap pair from Target and as soon as I decided I loved them, the heel broke off! =/
You are so right -- Every girl needs a white dress. They can literally go anywhere and do anything.

Preach it, girl! Power to the boots! I couldn't agree more about the great feeling (like a natural woman) they provide. Makes me feel like giving a sermon.
I absolutely love your blog! It's so inspiring and creative!
