Okay, ladies, I have a steal of a deal for you today. Are you ready?  This over-sized clutch can be all yours for $20. I found it online this week at Forever 21. I could not add it to my cyber shopping bag fast enough. Here's the catch, please don't be mad, the mint one is already gone!  It sold out crazy fast, but they still have the pink one (here), which in my opinion, is equally fabulous.

The leather has a high quality look and feel with a super durable magnetic snap. What's even better? I can actually fit more than just my keys and gloss into it. If you love it as much as I do, I would scoop it up today. I don't think this pink one is going to last long either. If your heart is set on the mint, keep checking back. Forever 21 is notorious for restocking popular items.

Some Urban Lace

I found this dress last weekend while shopping on 2nd Street in Austin. I don't make it into Urban Outfitters very often, so I must say I was a tad bit giddy. To my dismay, I was a slightly disappointed in their store offerings. Why is online so much better? I mean, if you sell something on the www, then please carry it in the store. Don't you know the ladies need to try it on, look in the mirror, twirl around a time or two, take a picture with their smarty phones and possibly bend over to ensure that a full moon doesn't appear during broad daylight? When are these people going to get it? I mean, online is fabulous if you don't actually have a storefront near you, but again...if you are going to sell it online...then sell it in the store. For the LOVE!

Any who, I was pretty pumped that I found this dress on sale for $39.99. I have actually been looking for a lace skirt that has a decent, non-hoochie-fied, hemline, but I still haven't gotten lucky. So, I settled for this lace dress instead. I guess it's really not settling because I think I just might be able to remix it into a skirt. Somehow. Some way. I will get creative.

Sorry, kids, I didn't see it online, but they had a ton left at the store in Austin. So hopefully, if you likey, your store my have a few left too. And did I mention that it came in a few other colors - turquoise, green, yellow and orange? It sure would look snazzy with that Blogger Bubble necklace everyone is wearing!

Let me know if you come across a cute lace skirt. I am looking for one that hits mid thigh or right above the knees. No hoochie. Please and thank you.  

(Isn't it ironic that I ask for no hoochie when my wedges are 6" high? It's all in moderation.)

A Weekly Peek

Happy Monday, lovelies! Here is another weekly recap of my life via Instagram. If you haven't downloaded this app, what are you waiting for?  If you are an addict like me, let's be buds @becauseshannasaidso.

My photos are somewhat out of order, but I had to place the picture below at the top of the list. I mean, my seven year old road a freakin' sheep, other wise known as mutton bustin'. She deserved top spot today!

 Look at that form. Look at the determination. Look at that fearlessness! Yep, that's my girl. I swear she is me all over again. My legend will live on! I was so proud that she got on that thing and rode with heart. She didn't last 8 seconds, but just hopping on was a win in itself. She had some serious road rash to show for it. Way to go, Logan! Little Bo' Peep can't hold a candle.

 I came across this poor soul at our neighborhood pool. Naked, headless and sunburned. It wasn't a very good day for Barbie, to say the least. 

 If you haven't met Sparkle Monkey, well here she is, doing what she does best. This is my second spawn and she is a red headed mess! Give it up for the blue hairs!! Oh, Landry, thanks for keeping our house laughing. You WILL see her on Comedy Central one day.  You are looking at my ticket to early retirement.

 

I have been looking high and low for a cute and durable iPhone case that doesn't cost $50. You ladies know that I am a budget shopper. Well, guess what?  This little beauty was only $9.99.  I got it at a Texas based store called Sam Moon. They don't have this cover online, but they DO have amazing prices on all sorts of jewelry, handbags and accessories. You need to check it out here.

My friend Joy texted this to me and I about died. My best lady friends say that this song is my anthem. Okay, maybe a few months ago, but I think I might be over it. Why do they always have to go and ruin a song? Time for a new Shanna anthem. Any suggestions?

 Arm party from Sam Moon and Forever 21. I bought this chain link bracelet in four colors. Oh, yes I did!

 

One of my VERY best friends is having a baby and she is not finding out the sex. We had her shower this weekend. If you wore pink, you think it's a girl, blue a boy. I am so on Team Lyla! Team Kellan doesn't have a chance! Such a fun shower idea.

 We had dinner with a bunch of friends Saturday night and it took almost an hour for the server to figure out our check. Seriously, worst service EVER!!  If you live in Austin, don't go to Gusto if you have a large party! I posted this photo on Instagram out of pure boredom, but it was a mighty fine glass of white sangria.

Okay, ladies, I was scrolling through our online bank statement and came across this. WHAT? Are you joking? Ross spent how much at Sport Clips? If you don't know what this is, it's supposedly a CHEAP place to get hair cuts for men. My mouth fell open. This had to be an error!  Nope, Ross said that he got "the massage" and purchased a "few" hair products. I guess I am finally starting to rub off on him.  Nonetheless, his hair does look fabulous and their was NO massage happy ending!

Getting Lucky in this Dress

Now that I have your attention from the title of this post, I'm technically not getting lucky.  Actually, the dress you see here was featured in this month's Lucky magazine. So, I guess it's the one getting lucky. Anyway, I came to a dead stop when I saw MY dress on page 30. Holy cow, I don't think I have ever owned an item that has popped up in a fashion mag before. I mean, of course I have gone out and bought something after I have seen it in a magazine, but never have I already owned something and then have it show up.

I actually got this color block dress last year. It was part of Forever 21's Heritage 1981 collection.  I have worn the heck out of it...to work, church, a shower and out to dinner. Twenty-five dollars well spent, don't you think? Well, I guess it was a fan favorite because Forever 21 brought it back again this summer.  I looked online and didn't see it, but you may want to check your local store if you are interested.

Cheap Thrills

Part 1

Hey lady loves, I am in two places at once today.  I have officially been crowned as a Hot Tamale from Mrs. Dusty over at Girls Love Fried Pickles.  If you haven't met Dusty, you are missing out. This girl is my long lost evil twin! I adore every ounce of her funny and filthy mind!  Not many blogs can make me snort out loud, but I do everyday with her's! Please show her some love. I believe we will be seeing her pretty little face on Comedy Central one day in the near future!  Love you, Dusty!


Part 2

So, yesterday, I sat by my lonesome in a chair while my "chitlins" were bouncing around at an indoor park.  In my state boredom, I hopped on my little smarty phone and started scrolling through apps after I had already stalked Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. What? Palm Reading Booth? Oh, I have to check this one out. I mean it got rave reviews, so it has to be legit. After reading the description, I decided that this bundle of useless pleasure was totally worth a dollar minus a penny.

The low down: Place your hand to match up with the "screen" hand and take a picture. Then it scans your palm and in mere seconds you get a full blown palm reading. Genius, right? And it's all going to be 100% true! Do I have your attention yet?

Oh, Lord, this one popped up first! How is this app be so telepathic? The activities my "palm reader" is speaking of is drinking wine and shopping.  Both of which are my total escape from reality and can be somewhat unhealthy, I suppose.

Next up is this??? Really, of course we all have unused brain cells of intelligence. Disappointed by this read.

BINGO!!! You may think I am nothing but butterflies and pansies all of the time, but I am sorry to disappoint you.  This here girl has a pretty crazy temper if pushed the wrong way. I have been like this since I was a little girl. I prefer to call it being strong-willed and not a push over! Dead on!

Oh hell no, Cyber Astrologist, you have got the wrong girl on this one. Managing money and budgeting is definitely not my strong suit.  If it wasn't for Ross, we would be broke and on the streets. We all have our downfalls, right? Another let down.

Double BINGO! This is another characteristic that I don't take pride in, but it's in my nature. Like Lady Gaga says, "I as born this way". Or maybe a better lyric would be "I'm BOSSY" by Kelis. Either way, I am who I am. Good job, palmist!

This couldn't be more true. I am very close to my family. Always have been, always will be. They have been there for me through thick and thin. And my girls, they are my world!

Hmmmm, I guess I am technically an avid blog and 50 Shades of Grey reader. I do enjoy reading books, I just can't find the time to read them "avidly". And you know what they say, "You learn something new everyday." I would say accurate, but could fit as description for everyone.

We got a lot of the same reads, but a ton of different ones too.  It was a little spooky how dead on some were.  I really don't believe in all the astrology hype, but I will say it was a fun, cheap thrill. Long Lost Twin

Before I begin with today's chit chat, I wanted to let you know that I am over at Sarah's blog talking about myself. Yes, I realize that sounds really shallow. But hey, if you are new to this here blog, hop over and get to know me a little bit better. Sarah is super sweet and one of my bargain shopping buds.

I have been eyeing and quite honestly, lusting over the black and white polka dot top from J.Crew. Being the budget shopper I am, I couldn't bring myself to spend $88.00 for it.  I have checked their website at least 3-4 times per week, hoping that I would find it on sale.  No such luck.  Now it seems that it's no longer available. 

Well, have no fear and shed no tear.  I found it's twin for less than half the price at Francesca's. I walked in and there it was, hanging on the rack waiting just for me.  How sad is it that when I united with this little treasure it completely made my heart do flip flops? I know, pretty dang sad. I swear, it looks almost identical to the one at J.Crew.  Did I mention that is was only $38.00?!?  Finding fab deals like this, is one thing I can proudly say I am a master of. Yes, I am tooting my own horn.  Thank you.
