Another Monday calls for another weekend recap.
Since I am a semi, aspiring to be, amateur fashion blogger, I thought it would be fitting to start off with some #ootd shots from Instagram.

Denim was the winning ticket four days straight, followed by scarves. No surprises here.

Moving on...I seem to always include Thursday as part of my weekend recap. I can only hope that the 5th day of the week continues to be just as magical as Saturday. I love Eli Young Band. They are one of my current faves and all their songs are a jam of mine. I missed out on their first trip to Austin this year. Come hell or high water, I wasn't missing out on their the second go around. And can we talk about my friend Joy's hair for a sec? You guys, it is just as bouncy, thick and perfect in real life. No fair.

And here my friends, are some other bits and pieces from the weekend.
a) Christmas shopping and wrapping complete. SCORE! RELIEF! AHHHHHHHH!
b) Bath and Body Works had all their 3 wick candles for $8.00. None of these bad boys are getting wrapped. All mine. Who else indulged in this Kick-A sale???
c) My iPhone crashed Saturday night. I think I almost hyperventilated. We headed straight to Apple chaos and thanks to sweet baby Jesus they restored my phone. It's still a little on the fritz. Just waiting for another crash and burn and praying it makes it through the holidays. Anyway, the girls and I found ways to entertain ourselves while we waited. I seriously could have stood their for hours making outer space faces. Don't they look JUST like me? Such strong genetics.

So, I told you guys on Friday that I wanted to conquer this pin. Well, whaddaya know? I actually made another one of my 100s of pins come to life and this one...well, it's like crack with added butter. Peppermint rice krispie treats and they are heavenly. Please, for all that is holy, make 'em tonight!
Directions:
Make your easy-peasy krispie treats with peppermint marshmallows (found at Wally-World).
Drizzle semi-sweet chocolate and white chocolate over the treats.
I added a few drops of peppermint extract to the white chocolate.
Sprinkle crumbled candy cane candy over the top.
I put mine in the fridge to harden and keep the chocolate from melting.
Ross was out of town hunting this weekend, so it was just me and these two. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my weekend after the horrific tragedy that hit Newtown, CT. I made sure to hug my girls extra tight and give them triple the kisses they would normally receive. And though they typically never sleep in my bed, I made the exception this weekend. Having them close, hearing them breathe snore and bed hogging me for 8 hours two nights back to back was right where I wanted to be. I pray for all those directly effected by this tragic event. My heart and prayers go out to the families, Newtown and this entire country.
