Surprise. Surprise. I decided to throw in a few beautification tips for my ladies today. I am not sure why I don't post much about what types of cosmetics I wear. Believe me when I say I have a pretty embarrassing, unorganized stash piled in a few bags.
I know most of you all know about the cosmetic line, e.l.f. (eyes lips face). It's been around for a few years. I actually remember first hearing about it and thought, makeup for a dollar? Uh, thanks, but no thanks. There is no possible way that an eyeliner that costs less than a Diet Dr. Pepper could do me any good. Right? Wrong.
When Target started carrying e.l.f., I was sold. I mean, Target is legit and we all want everything on every aisle in the store. Can I get an amen? So, I slowly started to pick up a lip gloss here, an eyeliner there and before I knew it my e.l.f. crush became a full blown love affair.
There are tons of other products I have yet to try, but below are a handful of the ones I swear by and will continue to use. It saves a ton of money and in my opinion they are just as good, if not better than the higher end products sold at Sephora and Ulta.
I am not going to go into details about each individual product. I will, however, chat about four that you need to add to your daily makeup routine stat.
Eyeliner - This bad boy lasts all day. It's a pen, so it's super easy to use and glides right on. It lasts a few months and comes in eight different colors. I use black and coffee. Cost: $2.00
Blush - This is almost identical to the coveted NARS brand. It's highly pigmented and is another one that lasts all day. I use Fuchsia Fusion which has a slight touch of glitter sparkle. The sparkle part sold me. Cost: $3.00
High Definition Powder - I used the Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder for years. Then I found out that e.l.f. sold one too. It's just as good as the more expensive brands. I put it on with the e.l.f. kabuki brush (pictured above) after my foundation for a flawless, photo finish look. Cost: $6.00
Lip Exfoliator - This is new from e.l.f. and I randomly stumbled upon during my last haul at Target. It is AWESOME! Perfect for removing rough/chapped skin off your lips and leaves you with a smooth lipstick ready pout. It tastes really yummy too! Cost: $5.00
Have you tried any e.l.f. products? If so, what should I add to my collection next?
P.S. There are THREE pretty fab giveaways going on right now. Here, here and here. Make sure to enter.

I love love looooove elf!! The cream eyeliner is my absolute FAVOURITE. And their brushes are all I use. I mean, at $3 for most of their items, it's impossible to beat! I'll have to try the high def powder, because I LOVE my makeup forever HD, but that ish is pricey!
xo
I am not completely sold on elf. It's a lot of hit or miss. One thing that's a definite hit for me is - hold on, let me go find it - OKAY! "Shimmering Facial Whip" I get it in spotlight and use it as a highlighter and as a concealer of sorts. Sometimes I literally glob it all around my eyes and it acts as both - then top with a translucent powder. It's good stuff!
Also, the brow gel. Yes, the brow gel.
I've just personally found that their eye liners and eye shadows don't have lasting power.
Definitely getting that lip exfoliator!

Samm

This is so good to know! In college, I was obsessed with rewarding my self with very expensive trips to Sephora. Now that I'm married and on an extremely strict budget, I'm always looking for quality make-up on a friendlier budget. Thanks for the tips!
I am obsessed with the elf brow gel, it's so great! I'll have to give some of these other products a try!
I absolutely LOVE e.l.f! my favorite product of theirs is the lip stains! I have two colors and they are such good quality for $2 :)

elf is great! I love their makeup remover wipes and actually use them to spot clean my brushes. You're right on the blush. It really is a dupe for Nars!

YAHOOOOOO for May babies! My birthday was the 8th.
Must go to Target. I want that exfoliator.
I've actually never tried elf products before. That high def powder looks interesting and at only $6, I think I might give it a go. Plus, I've been looking for a new brush! Have a great weekend and a fabulous mother's day! :)

Unfortunately the eyeliner totally dried out very fast for me but I am obsessed with the kabuki brush and the HD powder! Definitely staples in my makeup drawer(s)!
Target is my happy place, and ELF products are great! I have a few of their brushes which work great and some of their makeup products :)
My makeup bag is 80% elf. I've never been disappointed with anything I've tried from them. That exfoliater is the bomb.
Glad to see so many people embracing e.l.f regardless of the price point. I was totally hesitant at first! Have you tried the Studio Cream Eyeliner? I used to SWEAR by MAC's cream eyeliner but figured I'd try the e.l.f one for giggles. I don't think I'll ever look back now. Cheers! Jarlene
I have always been married to stilas eyeliner pen, and then I tried Elfs, and I swear to you, it's the SAME formula. Same consistency. Same long wear. I love it!
i love elf! i've only tried a few of their basic eye shadow palettes and powders- but SO CHEAP! love!
Oh this post makes me happy!! I'm aooo not a makeup guru and found e.l.f. like 6 months ago at Target and snagged some brushes and the blush. I'm obsessed with it! Yay for my cheapness paying off this time :)
I am obsessed with the high def powder! the prices are just amazing. I will have to try your recommendations!

The eyeliner pen didn't work well for me. BUT, love the cream eyeliner for $3. I use the brown and it's awesome!!
I really need to try that powder and lip exfoliator! I've been looking for the lip exfoliator for weeks and every time I go to Target they don't have it. I'm still on a search for it!
I have used the brow kit, which is a dupe for Benefits Brow Zings and also, the ELF Studio Powder brush is AH-MAZING!!
I need to jump on this wagon! Where have I been? Oh, I remember...avoiding Target because of my NY Resolution!
Have a great weekend and hope you had tons of fun at AFW!
The elf products that I've tried just didn't compare to the makeup I normally use. I may have to get that kabuki brush though!

e.l.f. has great stuff- I always recommend their products to my blog readers! My favorites are the hi-def powder, blushes and their brushes (the black ones!)
I love e.l.f. too! love their eyebrow kit and their brushes are amazing for its price.
happy mother's day and enjoy your weekend!
ELF has some GREAT products. I love their brushes and liquid liner (if you haven't tried it, you must!). Love that they're so affordable, too!
I've never tried elf! I am always torn between buying the beauty products that I love and KNOW work well, and cheaper, lower quality versions. This stuff seems like the perfect solution. Target just came to Canada but I'm not sure if they carry that line here - I'll have to go check it out!

I tried e.l.f. several years ago and had no idea they sold it at Target now. I am heading there this weekend so I will be stopping by the cosmetic section for that lip exfoliater for sure! Hope you have a great weekend!!
I have some elf brushes but haven't tried the makeup. The lip exfoliator and the HD powder look interesting...I'll have to give them a try!

I keep hearing great things about elf products but had no idea that they were so inexpensive! This is going to make trips to Target THAT much more dangerous! Happy mother's day to you, Shanna!
I've been looking for the exfoliator ever since you posted it on Instagram and have yet to find it! I definitely need an exfoliator stat!
I have never tried elf, but is sounds perfect for me...cheap and can be purchased at Target! :) I will be looking for it next time I'm there!
Thanks for sharing the elf finds. I haven't tried any of their stuff, but since I recently had to downgrade my budget I put the eyeliner pen and HD powder on my list!

Have you tried their Facial Whip? Its FABULOUS!!!
OK. I JUST picked up a bunch of these products when I was in Florida a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe the pricing.
I am totally using the eyebrow gel (love) and the gloss that you have pictured (also love). My MIL even bought a bunch of cosmetic brushes...apparently, quite good.
