I am usually a color person. Bright and bold tones are what I am typically drawn to most of the time. When I saw this metallic raglan at Old Navy I knew exactly how I wanted to style it; simple and on neutral grounds. The "K.I.S.S." acronym of Keep It Simple Sister popped in my brain when it pulled together this style. Sometimes less is more, meaning accessories, patterns and colors.

Each piece is basic, versatile, timeless and effortless. Most importantly I was super comfortable wearing it all day and still felt put together.

I think this top will be showing up on the regular over the next few months; with a jacket, vest, layered over an oxford top or dressed up with a leather pencil skirt. The possibilities are endless with this one and that's why it came home with me. These days, it's all about shopping smarter in my house.

In other other, non-related news, today is our last day of summer break. I am not counting the weekend. School starts on Monday. How did this happen? My girls found out their who their teachers are last night at the annual "Welcome Walk" and this afternoon we will head up to their school and  drop off supplies. Life as we've known it for the last three months is officially over. I am not sure how any of us will adjust to early bedtimes and 5:45 AM wake up calls. Sorry in advance if none of my posts make a lick of sense next week. I fully intend to blame it all on shifting back into a gear that has been dead and gone since early June. Bear with me.

Happy weekend. I am off to soak up every last morsel before the bell rings.
