Happy Labor Day! I hope you are relaxing on your couch, in a pool or on a lake, eating BBQ and of course catching up on blog reads.
Just to be clear, you are not seeing double from Friday's post. Yes, I know it looks all too familiar to what I posted a few days ago, but I told you guys that I was in the mindset of black and tan and that's what I stuck with all weekend when shopping. Neutrals. Mixing. Basics. Staples. Classic. That was my goal.

I haven't been shopping like this since I don't know when. Let's just say I might have had a little peer pressure from my mom and sister. I need someone to blame it on, right? The Labor Day sales and fall styles sucked me in and held on tight for five hours straight. Even though we are still experiencing summer weather, I couldn't help myself to all the amazing fall textures, patterns and colors that were hanging on the racks.
Luckily, most of the pieces I picked up can be worn now. I focused on things that weren't too heavy and that could tolerate the warm temps that are still hanging around Texas.
My favorites?
These track pants from Express that I can guarantee you will be seeing pop up in your favorite stores this season. They are hands down my new favorite trend. I saw several at Nordstrom last week in fab fall colors. I highly suggest you find a pair and give them a whirl.
I have previously professed my kimono obsession here and here. When I saw this ivory one at Forever 21 I knew I had to make it mine. How many ways can this one be worn? A million. Maybe more.
The window pane print is another pattern that I am adding to my closet this season. I am all over this trend. I think it may trump polka dots in the near future. These Joe Fresh pants found at JcPenney's are super affordable and I am hoping to wear them this week.
Last but certainly not least, leather is a big deal again this fall. This top from Express was the first thing I was drawn to when I walked in the store. The beauty is that it's not actually leather. It's made of materials to create an authentic leather look. So, it's a win-win. I am telling you, you will not even notice the difference. The quality is that good.
And if you can keep a secret from Ross, here are a few other goodies I picked up while my mom and sister twisted my arm. I cannot wait to wear the tan skirt of my dreams, some bold lace, a leather cuff of perfection, another scarf (duh), a cream skater skirt for $20 and I think I am finally sold on peplum.
Yikes! Take my credit card now. I am officially on a shopping ban starting now until Christmas!
Please tell me I wasn't the only one that went a little overboard this weekend. What did you get? I need details!

The track pants and the leather top are adorable! But I would have no clue how to style either of them! So I will be looking forward to the posts where you show you style your new pieces. Thanks for the great picks! Susan
You did get a great haul! I love #1 and #7. I really really need to go to JCP because it looks like they have such great stuff! There isn't one in my regular mall so I'm going to have to make a special trip....but seems worth it!

I'm pretty sure I just nodded my head at everything pictured here, I would wear it all! That leather top from Express is amazing!
I love those black and white pants! And the black pants too. I wish I had a regular pair of track pants and just not maternity ones. I guess I can always turn to my hundred year old hammer pants!

Great picks, girl! I especially love the wedges, the polka dot top & those fun pants! :)
Great buys, good choices to mix in! Love those pants and the polka dot top.
So...spending freeze for September? hahaha
I can't wait to see you style that shirt! I'm afraid I'm put off by it (It looks a bit boxy and masculine) but I am thinking with s lace skirt to give it proper girlishness? And red lips of course.

I want to try some of those track pants on, they are cute and look super comfy!
I did some damage at Old Navy today...oops!
AH I went overboard too!! I got the cutest sweatshirt with sequined shoulders at old navy, a chambray shirt, a cute orange and maroon skirt (go hokies!) and some jewelry. Then, because I can't be stopped, I hit up Nordstrom Rack and got not one but two pairs of TOMS!
I'm not shopping for a while, to say the least.
Great finds! I bought the girls some jackets from the Hanna Andersson outerwear sale. I actually didn't end up buying anything for myself this weekend, but I'm sure I'll make up for it in the coming months. :)
I am in love with those Express pants can't wait to see how your style them! The bracelet is so cute and I have a return at Forever 21 so I will have to take a look at that.. Love your blog!
Gurl, don't you worry, you done good! And these pretty neutral pieces are certain to play nice with the other gorgeous items in your wardrobe all Fall Season long!
