COLOR WOW Root Cover Up Review

I first discovered COLOR WOW in the September issue of InStyle. I read one of the editor's reviews, then did a little browsing online and scoped out some before and after pictures. I was instantly sold and made my way to Ulta.

COLOR WOW does exactly what is says. It covers your natural roots. Now, it's not as if I just got a foil from the salon, but it really did conceal where my hair is growing out. It's been two months since I had my last highlight and I try to make it last three months. It definitely did the trick on camouflaging my grown out roots and lasts from shampoo to shampoo. You can even swim without it washing out. COLOR WOW is also ideal for covering gray.

This breakthrough product is absolutely fail proof. It's is super simple to apply and the special mineral pigments match most hair tones in one of the six shades. There is zero mess and it takes less than ten minutes to apply. The palette may look small, but one compact will allow for up to sixty applications. Because of it's miraculous ways, you might believe it costs as much as a trip to your hair stylist. Wrong. The price tag is $34.50.

I suggest parting your hair down the middle, as this is where your roots show up best. Make sure your hair is clean and dry. I also recommend applying the powder in natural light. A great place? In your car using the rear view or visor mirror. Another tip is to not over apply. The powder will stick to your hair, but powder won't stick to powder.

There are how-to tutorial videos, reviews and press spots on COLOR WOW's website. I suggest you check them out for additional information.

To prove my words with pictures, here are unedited before and after shots of my hair. Are my roots completely gone? No, but for $34.50, I am pretty pleased with the results. It will help stretch my color for a few weeks longer.

So what do you think? Are you ordering or heading to Ulta today or have you already given COLOR WOW a whirl?
