Another weekend is upon us and the holiday hustle and bustle is just beginning. Most weekends are filling up with shopping for gifts, friends and family get togethers, party planning and an abundance of list making. At least that's what's on my agenda now until the end of December.

Old Navy Faux Leather Jacket (similar here and here) // Lauren Conrad for Kohl's Tunic (almost identical) // Old Navy Denim // Merona Infinity Scarf // Merona Hat // Boots SUPER old (similar here and here) // Phillip Lim for Target Bag (similar here and here) // Lilac Bijoux Crown Ring
Running around like a chicken with my head cut off calls for easy, functional and comfortable style. Thick, chunky scarves, skinny jeans, riding boots, leather jackets, hats for wind blown hair and of course an over sized bag are the perfect combination for a lady on the go. Every piece is a staple and when all mixed together you create a classic yet trendy look. I am all about using the least amount of brain power on the weekends, so having a few of these staples on stand-by makes getting dressed easy breezy.
Sometimes we over think our outfits and focus on which statement necklace to wear, which patterns to mix, layering upon layering, incorporating the hottest trends or stacking our wrists with pave bracelets, tassels and bangles. I know I am guilty.
Really though, some of my favorite styles and looks I have seen on Pinterest, blogs or in magazines are ones that encompass the simplicity of neutral colors and basic pieces that will be around long past faux fur, peplum, wedge sneakers or crop tops.
Happy weekend! Here's to keeping our wardrobe/closet life simple, at least every now and then.
