A Trunk Show

Some people have a thing for horse, owl, cat or bird patterns scattered across their clothes. This girl right here, has a slight obsession for elephant prints, but they are hard to come by. I don't see them very often, but when I do I can't help myself. I have a little bit of an eclectic, boho spirit and these little big guys with trunks help capture the inner pysche.

I saw this crocheted, elephant print dress online at Forever 21 (sold out online, but tank version) a few weeks ago. It took me less than ten seconds to add it to my cart and proceed with clicking the checkout button. You can't get a good glimpse of the front and back detailing since I added a boyfriend blazer (it's still a little chilly to wear sleeveless in my book), but this dress is perfect for the upcoming seasons. Park? Yes! Crawfish boil? Yes! Dinner on the patio? Yes! Running to the grocery in 100 degree weather this summer? Yes!

I was worried it would be a little too short for my taste, but was pleasantly surprised that it hit mid-thigh. I am 5'7 and finding dresses that aren't too short is often a tough task. This one is also flowy (is that a word) and hides all mid section areas that some of us love to hate.

After the dress came in the mail, I went on a little online adventure to see if any other brands or retailers were on the same elephant wavelength. To my surprise, I found more options than I thought. Can I get away with having just as many trunks in my closet as I do leopard? Hmmmm, probably not. Adding a few more wouldn't hurt though, would it?
