I can't seem to step away from full midi skirts. It's one trend I have fully embraced and love. I own a handful and have gotten plenty of wear out of each one. You guys know how I have remixed the midi skirt I purchased at Express a few months back, this H&M red one and I can't forget the watercolor print that's one of my all time favorite finds.
In my opinion, higher waist skirts that flare out are flattering on many shapes and figures. They tend to draw in the waist, flatter back ends, keep thighs well hidden and elongate legs. When wearing full midi skirts I suggest adding a crop top or blouse that can be tucked in. Avoid adding any layers (blazer, cardigan or jacket) that go past your bottom. These style recommendations will help define your frame, alleviate any bulk and lessen the potential of swallowing your frame.

I wore this to church on Easter Sunday. As you can see by the photos, the sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky. We could not have asked for better weather all weekend. We took a little road trip to visit our families for the holiday. It has been a few years since we made the trip for Easter and it was long overdue.
We started out at my husband's family ranch that included fishing at the tank, fresh tuna, golf cart rides and a million stars. We headed back to our hometown Saturday to visit with my family. My brother came into town for Easter. He hasn't been able to make it "home" in the last 15 years. My mom was over the moon to have all three of her kids under one roof. We went and saw the movie Heaven is For Real as a family (highly recommend), played a few ruthless games of Scrabble, attended the church I was raised in and spent Easter Sunday at my sister's house; by pool with plenty of plastic eggs for hunting.
It was one of those weekends that I just didn't want to end. My family is my rock. Always has been. Always will be. Sometimes I long for the hours/days/weeks to fly by, but not the last 72 hours. I took Friday off from blog land to fully embrace time with family and focus on the true meaning of Easter weekend. It was good for the soul. I hope you and yours embarked on the same moments and took the time to slow down and savor them.
