The business complex that Ross offices at hosted pre-July 4th festivities yesterday evening. One thing Ross forgot to mention was that it's purpose was to celebrate the holiday. All he told me was they were having a cook out, providing entertainment for the kids and that I needed to bring a chafing dish for a portion of the food. I showed up in this outfit sans the red, white and blue and my girls in all pink. Husband fail? Perhaps it was marital miscommunication. You be the judge. Regardless, we had a great time with great company. I guess I shouldn't bust him too hard because he did in fact carve out time to take blog photos for me in between loading his truck with a barbeque pit and setting up for the event. God love his sweet and supportive heart.
SHOP THE LOOK
I posted a snippet of this outfit on Instagram yesterday and mentioned that this medley could possibly be a new summer favorite. I randomly saw this Topshop tunic dress a few weekends ago when I was at Nordstrom. My only plan was to walk in, return something I had bought for Ross and leave. We all know that doesn't happen even though our intentions are good. Somehow we always get sucked in. Anyway, I ended up in the dressing room and before I knew it, I was at the checkout counter with not only a dress, but an embroidered clutch as well. I will say that this clutch has been on my shopping wish list for a good month, if not more. I finally broke down when it was the last one sitting all alone on a table. I have absolutely zero remorse for either purchase and plan on wearing all of this again in the near future, as in next week.
On a serious note, my mom is having major neck surgery tomorrow morning. I have been a ball of stress for weeks worrying. We all have. She is a strong and courageous woman. I know she will come out like a champ. I would be so grateful if you could stop and say a quick prayer for her, the recovery, doctors, surgeons, nurses, my dad and all involved. Please pray for calming, healing and a smooth surgery. The recovery is going to be a rough one and she will be down for quite a bit. Thank you all so very much! I will keep everyone posted.
