No, not that kind of "B", I am talking about basic black. I am not going to lie, September is the hardest month for me to dress myself. I have been bombarded with fall fashion; blogs with sweaters, scarves, layers and boots, stores stocked with warm and toasty styles and magazines that have kissed the summer goodbye. I live in Central Texas where the weather is still hot, humid and Fall is nowhere in sight. As much as I love Summer and never want it to end, I am finally getting a little impatient for cooler temps to arrive. I shopped a little bit over Labor Day weekend and only purchased pieces that aren't quite ready for 90+ degree weather.

So, long story short, I am using what I have in my closet to somewhat
transition into the new season. I figured basic black would tie me over
for a couple days/weeks/even a few months. A pop of color, a sparkly
statement and added leopard is a surefire way to play pretend and stay
on the seasonal trend here in blog land. I mean, I have kind been
feeling left out and a tad bit jealous of those who have actually begun
to see a seasonal change in weather.
Now, I am going to
jump in the pool and cool off, but there will be no pumpkin spiced latte
in hand. I am ready for the heatwave to end, but not THAT ready.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and as always, thanks a million for stopping by!

So, I'm basically in love with this outfit and am going to recreate it and then wear it for the next month! Seriously. I live in Rome, and in September it goes from being really cool (almost cold) to HOT (summer hot) within hours. I just re-entered the city (all families leave in the summer...) and on Monday, the first day back EVERYONE wore sweaters and put their kids in decidedly fall clothes. It was about 85* and sunny... Silly. So here's to outfits that are fall, without being super FALL-ish.
You look fab lady and same situation here in SFL it is no where near fall weather lol.

I am not ready for summer to end either. I could wear shorts and little dresses all year round! I do love this black outfit - peplum gets me every time! And I really need one of those clutches! That leopard print goes with everything!! Susan
LOVE this all black look - so chic and the leopard adds just the right touch!

You can't go wrong with basic black and that clutch- always a winner! It looks great. And I completely empathize with your current situation. I have the same problems here in Florida...I am itching to wear all the lovely Fall introductions, but any hint of Fall-like weather is months away! Oh well!

This gal will be holding on to summer as long as possible, I swear we missed the season entirely and then bang there she is, finally back to 85-90 degree temperatures so no fall gear on my blog either ( although I did get these little booties that I love). Loving your outfit and it is what I call "non" seasonal works anytime of the year
Love the peplum top!
This is the sweetest little peplum in all the land!!! Obvi I love the red heels and the bag but for some reason that tiny poof just has my heart for this look!

I hate dressing for this time of year too!! It's still summer outside, it's freezing at work in the AC and I'm ready for cozy fall clothes. It will be weeks before the weather actually begins to cooperate and meanwhile it takes me twice as long to get dressed. Glad I'm not alone! Happy Friday!
I adore black with a pop of color! it looks fab!!
Looks like you and I are in the same boat with the heatwave! I know I'm slightly craving fall clothes, but I'm going to soak up all the sun I can!

I feel the same way about CA weather. Only we don't have the humidity to that's a plus. But I'm so jealous of seeing all these bloggers getting to wear full on Fall clothes. While I'm over here trying to figure out Fall-ish pieces that can manage the 90 degree weather. Ugh! I love your outfits! I saw it on Pinterest this morning and repinned it :)

I just love an all black look...and I agree, it's so much harder to transition into Fall when it doesn't get cooler right away, like here in Cali, we are still reaching in the 100's. : /
So right. You can never go wrong with black, although this heat is just so much black is often too much. Have fun cooling off. I shall do the same. ;)
Could I have your necklace and earrings? Just wondering. :)
The color of those heels are amazing!! Love how it spices up the outfit!

Love the simplicity of this look! Those red heels are the perfect pop of color! I feel you about the weather...here in San Diego there is no sight of fall weather, but we can pretend, right? I have pulled out my booties:)

You will never be basic! This look is gorgeous. I always love an all black look. Your red shoes, amazing necklace, and pop of leopard are the perfect additions. I agree that this time is hard. I'm craving the fall things, but it's still 90+ here.

Ugh, it must be terrible lusting for fall but not getting it for a while! Fall is my absolute favorite!! This is a good alternative though.

Ok, I totally want to wear this entire outfit. Didn't I just say that in my comment on your post before this? Haha. But it's gorgeous and I can totally see it on a date night! I am ready for cooler temps if only for the fall fashion!!!
